A Natural Language Interface Using A World Model
نویسندگان
چکیده
Databases are nowadays used by varied and diverse users, many of whom are unfamiliar with the workings of a computer, but who, nevertheless, want to use those databases more easily. Rising to meet this demand, authors are developing a Japanese language interface, called KID, as a database front-end system. KID incorporates a world model representing application and database knowledge to help make databases easier to use. KID has the following features: (I) parser extendability and robustness, (2) independence from the application domain, (3) ease of knowledge editing, (4) independence from the database. This paper focuses on the first three features. KID has already been applied to the fields of housing, sales, and drug testing, thus confirming its transportability and practicality.

Using Generalized Language Model for Question Matching
Question and answering service is one of the popular services in the World Wide Web. The main goal of these services is to finding the best answer for user's input question as quick as possible. In order to achieve this aim, most of these use new techniques foe question matching. . We have a lot of question and answering services in Persian web, so it seems that developing a question matching m...

متن کاملIntegrated Processing Produces Robust Understanding Mallory Seifridge
Natural language interfaces to computers must deal with wide variation in real-world input. This paper proposes that, in order to handle real-world input robustly, a natural language interface should be constructed in accord with principles of integrated processing: processing syntax and semantics at the same time, processing syntax and semantics using the same mechanisms, and processing langua...
متن کاملNatural Language in Model World Interfaces
Model world interfaces are graphical environments that allow users to engage directly with a visualized world of objects, properties and relationships that model a given task domain. The approaches to multimodality detailed in this thesis are based on the idea of anchoring the interpretation of natural language utterances in model world environments. The model worlds considered take the shape o...
